Honey French toast

French toast is a pan-fried piece of bread soaked in a mixture of eggs and milk. In this dessert Kiri® Professional Cooking & Spreading is added for an extra full flavour. The French toast is then topped with sweet honey and crème chantilly.

Ingredients

The egg mix

The crème chantilly

  • 100 g cream 35%
  • 7 g granulated sugar

Cook

  • 2 sl square sandwich breads
  • 16 g salted butter
  • icing sugar

Assembly

  • honey
  • mint

Preparation

The egg mix

  1. In a bowl, mix Kiri® Professional with the sugar. Add a little milk to loosen. Then add the rest of the milk and mix until well combined.
  2. Stir in the eggs. Filter.

The crème chantilly

  1. In a bowl placed over an ice bath, add the cream and sugar. Whip until fluffy and firm.

Cook

  1. In a microwave-safe container, add a little of the egg mix and lay the slices of bread. Top with the rest of the egg mix. Microwave for 60 seconds at 600W. Be careful not to overheat and cook the eggs.
  2. In a frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the bread slices. Add any leftover egg mix on top of the bread at this step. Cook for a couple of minutes and turn. Keep turning the bread over until lightly coloured on each side.
  3. Sprinkle some icing sugar on one side, then turn. Cook until golden, repeat on the other side. When both sides are caramelized, transfer to a serving dish.

Assembly

  1. Top with honey and crème chantilly.
  2. Add another drizzle of honey and garnish with mint leaves.
